Supervision

I am currently training to be a UKCP accredited supervisor.  During this training period I am offering half price supervision (£25) for people in priviate practice, or free supervision for those volunteering their services, up to a maximum of 10 hour long sessions.  I am happy to work with people who just starting out on their first placement, however, this will need to be agreed with your training institution.

Supervision has many definitions but I like this rather long winded one:

"Supervision is a joint endeavour in which a practitioner with the help of a supervisor, attends to their clients, themselves as part fo their client practitioner relationships and the wider systemic context, and by doing so improves the quality of their work, transforms their client relationships, continuously develops themselves, their practice and the wider profession"  (Shohet and Hawkins (2012, 60)

As a supervisor then I work with you to support your practice, to support your development and more generally support the wider profession.  I work within and am bound by the UKCP code of practice, but as many potential supervisees will be BACP members I also work to the BACP code of ethics.

I offer supervsion face to face from my office in Ilkley, or via VSEE, after an initial meeting to get to know each other.
