Why Relational Spiritual Therapy?

What do all these words mean?

Relational includes the relationship between client and therapist that needs to become safe enough for those parts of you which are normally hidden to be heard or seen. It is the relationship between us, and what happens in that “between” that will help us to understand how hidden beliefs and fears play out in your everyday life. It includes the relationship you have with different parts of yourself: the parts you are less keen on as well as the bits you like about yourself.  And it includes the relationships you have with other people, those close to you, your communities, and the wider world.

The spiritual bit recognises that your beliefs about how the world works, and your relationship to those beliefs is important to make meaning and understand your life.  Naming our work as spiritual recognises that not everything that happens in the therapy room is easily explainable: there is a significant level of mystery involved too.

As we get older, we become more aware of our mortality, and questions start to arise around the meaning and purpose of life. Many people find it helpful to take some time reflecting on these and exploring which of their beliefs are helpful to them.

I am also a shamanic practitioner and can add shamanic journeying to our work if you are interested.
